The Keramos Bestiary | Ingleside Imaginarium
Designer’s Note: Ingleside Imaginarium’s The Keramos Bestiary enters the world of Ancient Greek Pottery and Mythology, and the iconic creatures that we still tell stories about today! The shape and style of this pattern is heavily inspired by Ancient Greek pottery and the elaborate painting that decorated it. This decoration often consisted of patterned bands along the circumference of the piece with scenes of styeek mythology. This sampler mimics the “black-figure” style, and with its light tan background, specifically Corinthian pottery, since the clay from Ancient Corinth was a similar color. Black-figure pottery features a dark figure on a lighter clay background, with a painted line providing the detail of the characters.
