Luther’s Rose | TopKnot Stitcher Shop – Printed Pattern
The Luther seal or Luther rose is a widely recognized symbol for Lutheranism. It was the seal that was designed for Martin Luther at the behest of John Frederick of Saxony in 1530.
Here are the symbols, colors, and meanings of Luther’s seal.
Black Cross – We are saved from sin because Jesus died on the cross.
Red Heart – We live because Jesus shed his blood for us.
White Flower – We have peace from our faith.
Blue Background – We have hope that we will be with Jesus in heaven one day.
Gold Circle – Heaven provides us with endless joy.

Sulky 0169 – DMC / Sulky 1001 – DMC Blanc (this color is left unstitched on the model and the white groundcloth shows through instead) / Sulky 1005 – DMC 310 / Sulky 1024 – DMC 725 / Sulky 1147 – DMC 666 / Sulky 1174 – DMC 319 / Sulky 1328 – DMC 762 / Sulky 4055 – DMC 3842 (this will not give the same effect as the variegated Sulky blue – try blending with another blue DMC if you’re feeling adventurous!)
