Flights of Fancy | JBW Designs
Designer’s note: The lovely birds in Flights of Fancy were part of a large antique sampler which was purchased this past year. The colors are just a lovely combination of aquas, greens and golds. As an adaptation, I worked just one of the birds and mounted it on a round scalloped tag from The Bee Co.
Stitch count: 144 W x 107 H (finished size is 8” x 6” on a 36ct fabric)
The sampler is Italian and was stitched in the early 1800’s on a 40ct linen in silk. The adaptation was stitched on a 36ct French Vanilla linen from R & R, using a variety of Classic Colorworks and Weeks Dye works fibers. DMC equivalents are listed also.
